Are that person who stays up late and wakes up late. Or maybe you stay up late and still manage to roll out of bed early every morning? Either way, you are what we like to call a night owl! You get most of your energy at night and that is really when you have the most fun and are the most productive. But being a night owl is sometimes lonely. A large portion of the world sleeps at night and works during the day. So what do you do to keep busy when most people snuggled in their bed? Browse the internet? Read? Exercise? Those are all nice ways to stay productive but we’ve got a few suggestions that can help keep things fun!
Night Owl Monopoly
Round up all of your fellow night owls and challenge them to a game of monopoly. Depending on who is playing, this game could last for hours and it never really gets boring unless you are losing. Everyone all of a sudden gets bored when they’re no longer winning. Reach out to friends and family to see if they would be up for a late-night board game.
Capture the Flag
This one requires running and possibly decent hand/eye coordination. So if you are not good at one or the other, then maybe you can just sit this one out? Or not! If you and a few friends have a good amount of energy to burn, then capture the flag is the best way to do this. Remember this is not the time to remind everyone that you were almost drafted. The keyword here is “almost.” Just have and try not to take it too seriously.
Chess
Sometimes you need a little peace and quiet. While running around and screaming at the top of your lungs because you just lost all of your houses in monopoly is fun, quiet is unbeatable. Chess is the best quiet-time game around. Just remember if you haven’t played in a while, then you might end up with a slight headache when all is said and done. This is ALL strategy. So start plotting on how you plan to take down the queen!
No more counting sheep! Embrace being a night owl and use these games to keep your mind occupied.
