High in the mountains of Chile, a very simple idea.

In 2009, a group of friends in the Chilean Andes wanted a sleeping bag that didn't ask them to choose between warm and mobile. They built one you could walk, sit, and tell stories around the fire in — and the wearable sleeping bag was born.

We named it Selk'bag in honor of the Selk'nam, the indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego, who knew how to move through cold mountains with warmth and dignity long before any of us did.

Today Selk'bag is sold around the world — but the idea hasn't changed. Make the outdoors easier to stay in. Use less. Move more.

We didn't set out to invent a category. We set out to stop shivering in our tents.
