Your April Watchlist

Happy April, Selk’fam!

Think Spring is at your heels? Think again. Winter is not only coming, it’s actually here. With the eighth and final season of our beloved Game of Thrones quickly approaching, the anxious feeling of an end of an area is dawning on us. We’re excited to watch what we hope is the best season yet, but equally scared to have it all come to an end. If you’ve somehow avoided seeing any GoT, been living under a rock, or got turned off by that one scary episode you watched, you have less than two weeks to suck it up, strap on your Selk, and binge like crazy to experience the best ever of television history.

But if you’re like us, are fully committed GoTers, and are literally preparing to fight the White Walkers, then maybe you should consider adding some other media to your consumption to quell those nerves. Here’s what to watch this April.

What to watch: GoT Season 8

Where to watch: HBO

Why watch it: Duh.

Rotten Tomatoes: 1000000000%

What to watch: Veep

Where to watch: HBO

Why watch it: We are BIG time Julia Louis-Dreyfus fans. So we were of course pleasantly surprised and thrilled when HBO announced that Veep was coming back for another season. Each episode is packed with delightful giggles. And Selina Meyer really  is the perfect antidote for your political woes.

Rotten Tomatoes: 91%

What to watch: Captain Marvel

Where to watch: In Theaters

Why watch it: Captain Marvel is not only dominating the Marvel universe as the strongest, perhaps most powerful superhero yet, but is also crushing our universe’s box office. The film just became the first female supero to gross over $1 billion. That’s right, $1 billion. We’re pretty much all in on Marvel, and the much anticipated movie met our high expectations. We also adored the deeper insight into the Nick Fury backstory.

Rotten Tomatoes: 59%

What to watch: Us

Where to watch: In Theaters

Why watch it: If you haven’t seen Us already, it's a fine time to head to the theaters and do yourself some justice. The movie is great for its plot and superb acting alone. But there’s much more to the film that will leave you deep in Reddit threads and in your own thoughts for days after leaving the theater.

Rotten Tomatoes: 69%

What to watch: Dumbo

Where to watch: In Theaters

Why watch it: We haven’t had a chance to see the childhood classic yet, but we are planning on hitting the theaters this weekend to do so. Tim Burton is a genius, Danny Devito is our hero (for life), and we simply want Dumbo as our pet. Honestly, even if the rest of the movie is a disappointment, watching little Dumbo fly around for an hour and a half will make it worth it.

Rotten Tomatoes: 61%
