Hit the Road (on your bike) this Spring

The ice has melted, spring has sprung and the roads are open. More specifically, the trails are open and you’re in (mountain) bike country now. We love a good workout with adventure in nature and mountain biking has just that. With flowers in bloom, now’s the time to get serious about some trail shreddin’. Here’s a quick list of some top trail networks in the country.

Where: Moab, Utah

Why: It’s hard to speak too highly of Moab’s martian landscape. In addition to the amazing trails, you also have access to two incredible National Parks, Canyonlands and Arches. The temperature is perfect this time of year to work up a sweat and not be uncomfortable, or unhappy about it.

Where: East Burke, Vermont

Why: According to Bike Magazine, Kingdom Trails are the highest rated in the country. So if you’re not going to take our word for it, definitely take someone else’s who is way more credible.

Where: Sun Valley, Idaho

Why: Better known for the amazing skiing, once that snow melts the dirt trails begin to shine and take center stage. There’s lift access (!!) to take your bike up the mountain and cruise/fall/roll your way down the mountainside.

Where: Bend, Oregon
Why: A personal and biased favorite from a few of us Oregonians here at Selk, Bend is an outdoor enthusiasts haven. Not only does Bend have the last open Blockbuster store in existence, they also have an expansive mountain biking trail system. So get out there and then swing back through town to rent your favorite, non-Netflix produced movie (we’d go with The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the Eighth Dimension).
