Give Back this Holiday Season with Selk and Direct Relief

Happy Holidays Selker’s,

We write to you this week with a very special announcement. With the holidays officially upon us, we have been spending a lot of time thinking on this past year. While we have much to be thankful for, we also feel deeply saddened about how difficult and devastating 2018 has been for our fire-ridden home state of California. The most recent fires have been the most destructive and deadly in state history. And while the flames of the Camp Fire are now 100% contained, the loss of loved ones and thousands still homeless is horrific. We can help rebuild these communities this holiday season.

That’s why we are so proud to launch this campaign. Starting December 11th through the holiday season, $5 from every Selk’bag sold will go directly to aiding the fire-affected communities across California through our partnership with Direct Relief.

We are extremely grateful to be working with Direct Relief. Direct Relief is the leading humanitarian aid organization, active in all 50 U.S. states and over 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies. Nongovernmental, nonsectarian, and not-for-profit, Direct Relief provides assistance to people and communities without regard to politics, religion, ethnic identities or ability to pay.

Direct Relief is responding to the series of fires that erupted in its home state of California. The humanitarian organization maintains a standing inventory of fire-specific supplies, including several hundred thousand N-95 masks, which are being distributed to fire-affected communities across the State.
